FSC to Announce Anti-Piracy Program

CANOGA PARK, Calif. — Free Speech Coalition takes a stand against online adult pirating with a new Anti-Piracy Action Program or APAP.

FSC will announce the newly developed program at the XBIZ LA trade show on Feb. 9 at 4 p.m. at the Sofitel Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif.

APAP is an inclusive program that tracks content with sophisticated spidering and fingerprinting software.

It compiles tracking data, sends DMCA notices to infringing websites from an attorney specializing in copyright infringement litigation and will negotiate with third party websites to post content trailers that take users to an option for purchasing content.

“The horse is already out of the barn as far as tube sites are concerned,” FSC executive director Diane Duke told XBIZ. “It is up to us to create a business model that can use the tube sites to our advantage. It’s the basic carrot and stick strategy, through litigation and monetization, tube sites will quickly understand it is much better to work with us than against us.”

Program fees are based on the amount of content tracked, so that even small content production companies can participate, starting at a few hundred dollars a month.

“We’ve pulled together top entertainment industry copyright infringement software company Vobile, with one of the adult industry’s most recognized copyright infringement attorneys, Gill Sperlein, under the umbrella of Free Speech Coalition to provide a strategic, effective, cost-efficient program and put the adult industry in the forefront in resolving the issue of piracy,” Duke said.

In order to sign up for APAP, participants must be active FSC members.
