Ad Marketplace JuicyAds Offers Direct Buy, Custom Sizes

LOS ANGELES — A new web ad marketplace is courting webmasters and online publishers to join its fold.

JuicyAds.com looks at first glance like a link gallery, but it offers advertisers the option to buy ad space directly.

Publishers, meanwhile, can instantly buy ads to appear on their sites. JuicyAds includes a customization tool that lets webmasters use HTML and CSS code to build their ads to size and place it on their websites. The service, which they're calling Custom AdZones, is currently in a public beta test.

"Many publishers really want full customization, or ask for sizes to be added," said JuicyAds Owner Jay, who operates under the handle tigermtb. "We can't add every size people want, so turning over creative control to the publishers is our solution."

Jay added that is a publisher decides to use the custom ad feature, they won't be able to use the company's default ads, which they call FillerAds.

"This is to protect our network advertisers from unqualified blind clicks," he said. "So this is for websites that have attractive space that advertisers want to buy directly. Any publishers who rely on income from our FillerAds should not switch."
