Falcon's Terry Mahaffey Dies of Cancer

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Falcon Studios announced the passing of its Principal and President Terry Mahaffey Monday. Mahaffey was a 20-year veteran of the adult entertainment industry who joined Falcon in 1996. His death was due to complications related to cancer treatment.

“Terry was passionate about Falcon Studios and the industry,” said Falcon’s Todd Montgomery. “He has been the heart and soul of the company – we were all inspired by his incessant energy and flair for making the ordinary extraordinary. The entire staff of Falcon Studios mourns his loss.”

Mahaffey grew up in Dallas, Tex., where he got his start as a model, dancer and actor in the Dallas and Houston theater communities until 1980 when he joined the adult industry as a movie distribution representative for LeSalon.

Mahaffey was mentored by Falcon's founder Charles Holmes, who brought him to the company in 1996.

According to Falcon’s Troy Pickett, during Mahaffey’s time with the company, he was responsible for the creative vision and quality control that helped Falcon reach a leadership position in the gay adult industry.

In 2004, Terry Mahaffey joined business partners Steve Johnson and Todd Montgomery to create 3 Media Corporation, an entertainment and media investment firm that bought Falcon Studios from the Charles M. Holmes Foundation.

Mahaffey died peacefully at home, Pickett said, supported by his partner Michael Scott.

Memorial services will be held in San Francisco on Saturday, Nov. 12. Memorials can be made in Terry Mahaffey’s name to the Sutter VNA & Hospice Foundation, 1900 Powell St., Suite 300, Emeryville, Calif.
