3rd Degree Plans 'TMZ' Parody; Ron Jeremy in Nonsex Role

CANOGA PARK, Calif. — Gonzo production company 3rd Degree Films will joining the parody trend with "TM Sleaze," a spoof of the syndicated tabloid TV show "TMZ."

“No celebrity is safe,” 3rd Degree President Joey Wilson said. “Celebrities from television, film, music and the sports worlds will all be exposed. We’ve gone to great lengths to ensure that the celebrity impersonators will bear — and bare — an uncanny likeness to the person that they are portraying.”

Wilson and 3rd Degree also have reunited director Mike Quasar with Brian Bangs and Spock Buckton from website PopPorn.com to steer the project. The three recently collaborated on a Zero Tolerance/PopPorn coproduction.

A four-day shooting schedule starts today, with Ron Jeremy starring in a major nonsex role and a cast of 20 in sex and nonsex roles, according to 3rd Degree publicist Scott Stein.

“With the cast that we’ve assembled, the script that has been delivered and all of the bases that we’ve got covered, I couldn’t be happier,” Wilson said.

The DVD will be released by the end of the year.
