2much High-Definition Video

MONTREAL — 2much.net, the interactive video developer that provided live streaming of the Qwebec Expo’s Best Adult Awards Ceremony in September, announced plans this week to launch a new high-definition video-streaming format that will offer considerably higher screen aspect ratios, better sound and faster frame rates than currently available from most providers.

According to President Mark Prince, the new format will provide live, wide-screen video at 30 frames per second and with 48KHz Dolby Surround 5.1 streaming audio, offering up a quality Prince claimed has never been achieved with live web video.

“Traditional screen aspect ratio is 4:3, but this is 16:9,” said Prince. “We're not just pushing the envelope anymore, we're pushing it through the shredder.”

Prince said the company recently tested a hi-def stream on 2much’s LiveCamNetwork. LCM is scheduled to be the first site to use the new format, which will launch with a series of live interviews with several of the more popular LCN girls beginning this Friday.

According to Hidden Dragon, 2much’s network supervisor and head programmer, most of the technology required for viewing the streams is handled by 2much and doesn’t place an undo burden on the end-user’s machine.

“We've acquired the machines, codecs and connection required to compress, output, stream and route the video feeds,” said Dragon. “Live hi-def video requires fast computers, but nothing most surfers aren't already using.”

Prince added that the streams are best viewed with AMD 64's and newer generation graphics cards like the ATI Radeon series.

The company plans to demonstrate the new hi-def video streaming on Friday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. EST, when it will broadcast “The Luna Show” on LiveCamNetwork.com.
