Playboy.com Relaunches With Emphasis on Lifestyle

CHICAGO — Playboy.com on Monday relaunched its site that is billed to become “the ultimate lifestyle and entertainment destination, re-engineered for a new generation of sophisticated men.”

"The new Playboy.com translates the DNA of Playboy into a digital experience, leveraging the best of the web via sight, sound and motion and offering a trusted dialogue between the user and Playboy," said Jimmy Jellinek, editorial director of Playboy magazine and Playboy.com.

"With this transformation of Playboy.com, we are welcoming millions of American men to a next-generation online community that literally puts the entire World of Playboy at their fingertips," he said.

Playboy.com said online research company Quantcast rates it to have 6 million monthly visitors, delivering more unique monthly visitors than any competitive men's entertainment site.

The relaunched Playboy.com now offers original video, animation and interactive content, combined with a wide variety of opportunities to personalize content.

"We are excited and confident that the newly enhanced Playboy.com will create a greater value proposition for advertisers, complement Playboy magazine, and firmly position Playboy.com as the No. 1 entertainment men's site," said John Lumpkin, divisional vice president and associate publisher, Playboy Digital.

The new Playboy.com includes a robust video game section that includes previews, reviews, development diaries and a weekly video blog from Jo Garcia, the “Gamer Next Door.”

It also includes an area on humor, showcasing “Play-Mation Nation”; After Hours, a section on nightlife and travel; and the Playboy City Guides, “the male authority on where to go to find the best food, drink, and entertainment in 15 cities around the world.”

The relaunched site also includes Playboy Forum, which includes daily blogs; Playboy Advisor, the “ultimate full-service guide for sex, relationships and the mating game, offering advice in real-time with the Daily Advisor”; Style Recon, a video and music mashup that weighs in on what to wear; and Wanderlust, “the ultimate in-the-know guide to adventure travel for the hip global nomad, offering exclusive access to everything from the best cigar-roller in Havana, to street-racing at 200 mph, to cage-diving with white sharks off Mexico's Isla Guadalupe.”

For the first time on one site, Playboy is making available The Playboy Interviews from its beginning in the 1950 to date.

With the relaunch, the site continues the tradition of featuring Playboy Playmates, supermodels and celebrity pictorials.
