FriendFinder Acquires WebcamCash

BOCA RATON, Fla. - FriendFinder on Friday acquired WebcamCash, which will be run by company units Streamray and Cams.com.

Representatives from FriendFinder or WebcamCash, an XBIZ Live Video Chat of the Year nominee, were not available for comment, but reports confirmed the takeover will be effective Wednesday.

The deal is the year's first major acquisition for FriendFinder, which plans to offer a $460 million initial public offering next month.

News of the purchase developed after a posting on message board GFY said, "We are pleased to announce that effective Feb. 25, WebcamCash, Spread4U and Cam Club will be owned and operated by Streamray and Cams.com, the Internet's leading adult webcam provider.

“This will result in tremendously more traffic to our network of sites, with more earning potential for models and studios than ever before. We are certain this purchase will have a positive effect for both models and members.”

WebcamCash is an affiliate program powered by webcam sites Cam Hotties, Cam Club, Spread4U and Stroke4U.

WebcamCash's portfolio of sites includes BigTittyCams, HotAsianCamgirls, Latina Camgirls, Ebony Camgirls, Real MILF Cams, ChubbyCamgirls, MatureCamgirls, RealCoupleCamgirls, AllAssCams and AllAnalCams, as well as GLBT sites BuffCams, HotEuroStuds and GenderBenderCams.

The company uses Flash video with 2x, 3x and full-screen zoom, with high-def audio. The sites also include a "whisper" feature to send secret messages to chat hosts.

WebcamCash is run by owner and co-founder Barry Fruitman, as well as co-founder Hazel Fruitman. It has provided feeds since 1999.

Friendfinder owns Penthouse magazine and AdultFriendFinder, as well as its dozens of sister companies, including Streamray and Cams.com.
