Hustler TV Breaks Into Europe

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – Expanding on its already successful programming initiative in North America and Canada, Larry Flynt Publications has penned a deal with London-based Total Media to expand the reach of Hustler TV into Europe.

Michael Klein, president of LFP’s Broadcasting and Internet units, told XBiz that with Total Media’s infrastructure and established relationships in those regions, he expects the rollout to be as successful, if not more, than the company’s Canada presence, which has outshined all other Canadian adult offerings and vaulted Hustler TV to the No. 1 performance category in adult programming since its launch there in June 2003.

LFP Broadcasting is made up of Hustler TV, available on pay-per-view, and Hustler TV On Demand.

“Our goal is to reach all across Europe,” Klein told XBiz. “Total Media has done an excellent job in the getting those networks out all across Europe.”

Klein said that Total Media is completely aware of what type of content is applicable in which countries and will carefully abide by those regulations. In order to accommodate the programming needs of different locations, Hustler TV Europe will offer two channels: a softer version, tentatively named Hustler Blue, and a more explicit channel for those markets that allow it.

Hustler Broadcasting and Total Media will jointly market the programming initiative, eventually leading to the rollout of Hustler-branded video-on-demand services in various countries, although a date has not yet been set.

Established in 1982, Total Media is an independent media planning and buying agency that currently manages adult programming for Private Media, one of the world’s largest international adult entertainment companies.
