Hustler and PPPCard Sign Deal

NEW YORK — Pre-payment service PPPCard.net, which offers a rechargeable card that can be used to access online adult material, has added the Hustler network of websites to its network.

The deal between PPPCard and LFP Internet Group, parent company of all of the Hustler websites, was announced today.

The PPPCard, or “Pre-Paid Porn Card,” is billed as an alternative solution for the adult industry. Currently the card is available in about 6,000 retail outlets, although company representatives said they expected to reach closer to 20,000 by the end of 2005.

Essentially copying the pre-paid phone card model, the PPPCard can be bought in various denominations and used on any sites in the card’s network. Because it is a pre-paid option users do not have to worry about credit card fraud or other identity theft when purchasing adult content online. The card also helps prevent recurring charges and other online issues that frequently give consumers pause about spending online.

Michael Klein, president of LFP Internet Group, said adding Hustler to PPPCard’s network was an obvious way to reach more customers.

“[We want] to expand our brand on all levels, and the PPPCard enables Hustler’s websites to be marketed through retail channels, giving our customers an additional way to access the various Hustler websites,” Klein said.

Greg Moss, president of PPPCard, said the deal with Hustler not only improves the diversity of content offered through the card, but also highlights a business model he said provides a win-win situation for all companies that sign with PPPCard.

“With PPPCard and Hustler's online and offline presence there is opportunity to create unique programs that are beneficial for both brands,” Moss said. “With the addition of Hustler as a partner [we] will continue to bring our customers the best the Internet has to offer.”

In addition to traditional online content, the PPPCard can be applied to the emerging pay-per-minute model on Prodinix' PPM platforms as well. The company also has plans to use PPPCard in the mainstream world under a slightly different “Pre-Paid Purchase Card” moniker.
