Fully brandable to a specific site, Push provides mobile stories, images, video, news, a ticker, competitions, quizzes, voting, links, and purchasing options and can be delivered to most Wap/Java-enabled handsets. The software can also update information on a user’s phone automatically based either on user specifications or via the content provider.
“Push provides a major step forward in allowing brands to benefit from the astronomical growth of people using their mobiles for information, purchasing and fun,” said MobVision’s Terry Jackson. “If brands, mobile-related or otherwise, are wondering how to tap into this new [mobile] boom, we provide the vehicle.”
Once downloaded, the Push application remains on a user’s phone in the form of a customizable icon. Because it is Java-based, content downloaded to the phone through Push doesn’t have to be connected to any external service to be accessed. The application also tracks the user’s habits while in use, sending spending and other user information back to the company hosting the service. Once a user wants additional content, Push can retrieve it easily.
Jackson said the content provided could be as simple as images and text, all the way to a “full mobile magazine” with links to more images, videos, stories and special features.
“The content can be changed weekly, or monthly, or as often as required,” he said. “The new content will automatically appear on the user’s handset when they next visit the Push icon.”
For website owners who want to expand their content offering, Mobvision also provides licensing options of their own, featuring a vast library of content that boasts full global license agreements and is guaranteed legal by the company.
“There are companies who are claiming to supply adult content solutions for mobile phones [whose] images may not be licensed, and may not have been legally checked,” said Jackson. “We ensure the content you work with is fully licensed for mobiles.”
