Q&A: Lexi Luna Embraces MILF Stardom on Cam

Q&A: Lexi Luna Embraces MILF Stardom on Cam

Five years into her career as an elementary school teacher, Lexi Luna realized her quality of life just wasn’t improving. “I worked too much for too little and I was taking interviews for other positions related to teaching,” she remembers.

Unfortunately, she proved to be either too qualified or under-qualified for most of the available positions elsewhere, so when she was offered the opportunity to do adult films via a recruiter on FetLife, she leapt at the chance.

The Lexi Luna brand is one of a confident, empowered woman who takes no shit! My vibe is the MILF with boundaries who will politely put you in your place.

“I saw it as a way to exit the worst company I’d ever worked for: public education,” Luna said.

With nearly 200 studio-shot titles under her belt today, not to mention a flourishing camming and content creation business, Luna is very glad she chose to pivot away from mainstream.

“I’ve really blossomed in this industry!” she enthused. “I’m more confident, better able to care for my future and I’m definitely more interesting at parties.

“Professionally, I’m willing to take more chances, because I don’t constantly live in fear of being fired if I can’t make someone learn due to factors outside of my control,” Luna continued. “It feels really empowering to be an expert in my field and to see my peers respect and look up to me.”

Now, scoot up to the front of the classroom and get to know the teacher-turned-star in this exclusive Cam Star of the Month interview.

XBIZ: How do you balance your time between studio shoots and camming?

LUNA: I decided to live far away from L.A., so I strategize with my agent every month and plan a week or so of shooting. This helps me focus only on shooting instead of trying to have too many irons in the fire. When I’m back home, I have ample time to schedule cam shows and interact with fans.

XBIZ: Which cam platform(s) do you stream on the most, and why?

LUNA: I cam for Camsoda. They were the first company I signed up with five years ago when I started looking into camming. First, I love their colors! Pink and blue are really easy colors to use for promo as well as matching my clothes. Additionally, Camsoda doesn’t have an endless amount of game options when it comes to streaming, so it makes it really easy to use the platform. The last thing I want to do is have to type and touch my computer while I’m performing for my fans. Camsoda makes it easy by integrating a spin the wheel option as well as Lovense control. It’s seamless and it works, which makes for great shows.

XBIZ: What other revenue streams do you pursue?

LUNA: Good question! It is good to diversify. In addition to studio shoots, I am available with a monthly subscription on OnlyFans where I sell personally-produced content, SextPanther (a texting, phone and video chat platform) and I have a 3D-modeled full-sized sex doll coming out really soon at LexiLunaDoll.com. Also, I am getting ready to launch my own subscription website! It keeps me busy for sure. It’s best to follow me on Twitter (@LexiLunaXOXO) as I post everything I’m up to on there.

XBIZ: Discuss your approach to social media marketing and keeping fans engaged.

LUNA: Social media marketing has been tricky, as many platforms really don’t want sex workers promoting their sites. My general rule is this: if I can’t put my direct link on your platform, I don’t use your platform. I have a huge mailing list of fans I have acquired over the years and I market to my fans directly. I use Twitter to promote the scenes I’ve shot, as well as my personal content, and fans engage with my posts there.

XBIZ: How would you describe the “Lexi Luna” brand in a nutshell, as far as your overall vibe, style and personality?

LUNA: The Lexi Luna brand is one of a confident, empowered woman who takes no shit! My vibe is the MILF with boundaries who will politely put you in your place. I respect my fans and demand respect in return.

XBIZ: Tell us how you adapted to social distancing this past year.

LUNA: Social distancing has been my favorite thing to come from the pandemic. Because I am an attractive female, I get harassed doing everyday things. Walking to and from my car, waiting in line at the store and going out to eat, I’d always get a cat call or “damn girl” muttered under a man’s breath. Now that people have to keep their distance, it has really helped me actually be able to ignore people instead of just pretending I didn’t hear them.

XBIZ: Describe which lessons from studio shoots have proven beneficial in creating your own content.

LUNA: I’ve learned a lot about lighting and the way to set up a shoot space that’s conducive to not only the performance, but also to the movement necessary behind the camera. Being aware of what the camera sees helps me perform better and give better angles, as well as watching what works and doesn’t work. Sometimes a position or angle feels really good doing it but when I see the final result, it’s not quite right. Or, the opposite, where I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

XBIZ: What are your main goals this coming year?

LUNA: I’ve been really focused on acquiring original content this next year. I love being able to hire my friends to perform in great scenes with me because it sets a very professional tone for the shoot. I’m also excited for the partnership between LexiLunaDoll.com and SextPanther because fans who buy the doll can call in and talk with me while they play with their doll. How cool is that? Overall though, my goal for the coming year is more! More content, more fan connection and more projects. I can’t wait to share it with my fans.

Growing Site Revenue Under Ever-Changing Compliance Rules

Over the past year, many merchants have reported earnings that were flat or even a bit down. This is due to three main factors: age verification regulations, click-to-cancel rules, and banks backing away from cross-sales due to regulatory requirements and the rollout of the Visa Acquiring Monitoring Program (VAMP).
