Q&A: Andrea Flexes Biz Dev Muscle for Team Centro

As the business development manager for ModelCentro, Andrea weaves together a profitable web of affiliates, models and influencers, interfacing with all parties to achieve their very best.

Chief among his responsibilities is ensuring that models’ needs are met when it comes to running their content-rich ModelCentro websites, which offer a blend of subscription-based monetization and clip store capabilities, not to mention integrated Pornhub functionality to maximizing traffic.

Our team is constantly working on improving the platform and adding new features that will help models and influencers monetize their fan base.

And with the Snapchat-powered Fancentro service as an integral component in the multi-faceted equation, as performers of every stripe increasingly rely upon a diverse array of moneymaking avenues, Andrea definitely has his hands full.

Fortunately, among the many brands at his disposal is MCProfits, through which affiliates can harness talent-seeking traffic to circulate through the Team Centro ecosystem.

To learn how Andrea juggles so many dynamic aspects of the business, XBIZ sat down with the man behind the brand, for this exclusive interview.

XBIZ: What led you to join the ModelCentro team?

Andrea: I joined the ModelCentro team three years ago when I decided to move from Europe to the U.S. I’ve known Stan D’Aman (owner of ModelCentro and FanCentro) for more than four years now, so when I began my move, I reached out to him. Within my first two weeks in the States, I was able to have a sit-down with Stan for an interview.

At this time, I understood Stan’s vision and the mission of the company and thought it was a perfect fit for me. I felt that I could apply my skill set to what ModelCentro does and what it provides for models, influencers and affiliates. When I was offered the position I jumped at it, and the rest is history!

XBIZ: Describe your role and responsibilities for the company.

Andrea: Currently, I am the Business Development Manager for ModelCentro, FanCentro and MCProfits, working closely with models, studios and affiliates for both the U.S. and Latin American markets. I manage existing relationships with models, studios and publishing partners, in addition to recruiting and building new business opportunities.

XBIZ: What makes ModelCentro an attractive platform for models?

Andrea: ModelCentro has been built around models’ requests and their need to monetize their fan bases. That being said, we created a platform that gives models 100 percent control over their content and websites.

Models can even choose their site’s business model (whether it is a membership site or more of a clip store). Our platform takes care of all the technical aspects like billing, hosting and customer support. This allows models the freedom to focus on creating and managing their own content while engaging with their fans.

XBIZ: Discuss your approach to recruiting models and studios.

Andrea: Each studio and model is different, so I try to maintain a personalized approach with all of them. I believe it’s essential to understand their needs and goals first in order to provide them with the best possible service. This, in turn, helps determine which platform is most suitable based on their long-term goals.

XBIZ: Any new features or updates this year that have proven particularly successful for the Centro platforms?

Andrea: This year, on ModelCentro, we have released a clip store business model, which has been incredibly successful with both new and existing models. The clip store has provided an alternative to the traditional membership option, as well as the ability to target a wider range of fans.

Additionally, on FanCentro, we have introduced “The Feed,” which enables influencers to boost interactivity and monetization options. Influencers may choose to enable The Feed, which charges fans a membership fee as part of their social experience. This includes posts of almost any kind of media, including images, videos, text, PDFs, etc.

XBIZ: Discuss your work with MCProfits and affiliates in general.

Andrea: I’ve been working with affiliates since I started in this industry, and MCProfits makes it even easier now. The platform is pretty straightforward and user friendly. Affiliates have hundreds of sites and FanCentro profiles available for promotion.

This year we also introduced a discount option, a new way to monetize first time buyers to join unique model-managed websites. We also introduced the iframe, which allows affiliates to promote all sites powered by ModelCentro with just a few clicks and three different billing solutions which can be adapted to any affiliate’s business model.

XBIZ: Talk about the evolution of FanCentro and what kind of content seems most lucrative.

Andrea: Our team is constantly working on improving the platform and adding new features that will help models and influencers monetize their fan base. When we launched the platform, there was only the option to monetize Snapchat. Then we added Instagram and recently The Feed. And we’re not done just yet…

As far as content, each model is unique and different from one another, and their fans base as well. Especially with Snapchat, we see that a model’s personality plays a huge role in the selling process.

Also, users are now able to see their favorite models in their everyday life and be part of it. This is the main reason why FanCentro has become really popular. It simply provides a more interpersonal experience between fans and models.

XBIZ: What can a ModelCentro model do to improve their revenue streams?

Andrea: I could talk for hours about this, but I’ll keep it brief … we have several features that can help increase revenue streams.

For example, a model may enable “The Store,” in order to target fans that are not willing to pay a monthly fee but still want to see exclusive content.

In addition, they may download the ModelCentro App and message fans on the go without using a laptop.

A ModelCentro account can even be synced with Pornhub! Models benefit from tube marketing and in turn can make extra money from ad revenue by publishing content on tube sites. A model may choose any of the content on the ModelCentro powered website, edit its meta and send it straight to the PornHub Model Program page.

Site revenue can further be increased by sending paid content via private messages. Set a price and blast all registered users on the site for additional exclusive content.

XBIZ: How does your platform integrate camming into its product offerings?

Andrea: Live shows are a great resource and help retain members on the site, especially for those models who don’t cam on other sites. Models can either schedule free member shows or schedule one-on-one exclusive live shows with one member, with the pay-per-minute option. It’s a great tool for extra revenue and for keeping members loyal to your site.

XBIZ: What’s next for Team Centro in 2019?

Andrea: There’s always something new coming out … the team behind ModelCentro and FanCentro is always working on new features and tools that allow models and studios to keep control over their brands and make even more money. I don’t like spoilers so I’ll just say … stay tuned, because 2019 will be even better than last year!

Building Sustainable Revenue Without Opt-Out Cross-Sales

Over the past year, we’ve seen growing pushback from acquirers on merchants using opt-out cross-sales — also known as negative option offers. Existing merchants submitting new URLs with opt-out cross-sales are being asked to remove them.
