Internet-TV company Veoh Networks today announced the beta release of VeohTV, a combination video browser and digital video-recorder that supports open Internet standards, giving its users Tivo-like functionality that can be applied to virtually any online video content.
Communications conglomerate SBC Communications Inc. has entered into a joint venture with digital video recorder manufacturer 2Wire Inc. and formed a new subsidiary aimed at creating a service to compete with TiVo.
