Writer Violet Blue Sues Performer Violet Blue

SAN FRANCISCO — Sex writer Violet Blue filed suit in U.S. District Court against adult performer Violet Blue Oct. 19, claiming trademark infringement, trademark dilution, unfair competition and unfair use of writer Violet Blue's name and likeness in "obscene and pornographic works without the permission or consent of Plaintiff."

Writer Blue is author and editor of 20 books on sex and sexuality and also has contributed to a number of nonfiction anthologies. She was named one of the Web Celeb 25 by Forbes magazine in January, writes a weekly column for the San Francisco Chronicle titled "Open Source Sex," and maintains the website TinyNibbles.com.

Performer Blue has appeared in more than 200 adult videos in a career that ran from 2000 to 2005. She has the website VioletBlue.org. She currently is retired from performing.

Writer Blue's attorney told XBIZ that she and Blue are not in a position to comment.

Performer Blue confirmed that she had been served with the suit, but told XBIZ that she would have no comment until she had spoken with an attorney.
