Vivid Releases ‘Where the Boys Aren’t 19’

LOS ANGELES — Vivid Entertainment has released “Where the Boys Aren’t 19: Arabian Nights,” the last installment in the company’s most popular girl/girl series directed by legendary drag queen director Chi Chi LaRue.

According to Vivid’s David Peskin, this is the last in the series as far as he knows. He said that sales were strong in preorders, and that customers have been anxious to see LaRue direct a stellar lineup of Vivid contract performers, including Tera Patrick, Briana Banks, Monique Alexander, Lexie Marie, Tawny Roberts, Mercedez, Lyndsey Love, Lacey Love, Lanny Barby, Savanna Samson and Stefani Morgan.

XBIZ asked LaRue if it was fun directing the all-star, all-girl cast.

“Not always that fun,” LaRue said. “Of course, each girl has her own personality and her own quirks, and there were a lot of pros there and a lot of newcomers in that movie.

“It was Stephanie Morgan’s first movie and she was very naïve, but she was ready to jump right in there and do it. She had never been with a girl before, she told me — and the first time she was with a girl was on this set with Monique and Lexi. So that was interesting,” LaRue added. “You know, you have to juggle all those personalities and make the talent happy, at the same time keeping yourself happy. Each girl wants her moment — and that’s what I tried to do, was give each girl their moment.”

Tera Patrick, who appears on the boxcover for the second time in the series, told XBIZ that it was “the best” working with LaRue, who is one of the starlet’s favorite directors. She also recalled that a duo scene from the movie, featuring Patrick and Mercedez, was one of the hottest girl/girl scenes she has ever shot.

“Tera and I were friends before I ever worked with her. We came together and did a lot of projects together and she was nothing but fabulous and gorgeous and did everything I asked of her,” LaRue said. “I think her and I got together with doing her first girl/girl scene with Savanna in ‘Tera, Tera, Tera.’ She trusted me to take care of her and I trusted her to come through for me, and I think we both delivered on both aspects.”

The harem-themed all-girl spectacular also features a 10-girl orgy.

LaRue is currently in production with her own company, Channel 1 Releasing, for a bisexual movie titled “Shifting Gears.” When asked if she would ever consider going back to shooting straight adult movies, LaRue said she was glad to be working with some girls again, and reminisced about her days at Vivid.

“I’m really excited to be working with some girls again. Yeah, I miss it a lot. I miss the girls, especially the Vivid Girls; they were my friends and they always did 100 percent for me and so yes, I do miss doing the straight stuff definitely,” LaRue said.

“Vivid and I have talked about me coming back and doing another installment of ‘Where the Boys Aren’t.’ I’d love to do it,” she added. “We always have fun. Marci, Hersh and I always come up with these ideas.”

“One idea we never did, was bringing all the girls to a farm and doing like a cowgirl/milkmaid kind of story,” LaRue added. “I think that would be really fun, having Briana Banks milking a cow.”
