Jimmyjane’s Form 6 Vibe Earns Bronze IDEA

RICHMOND, Va. — Jimmyjane has crossed another mainstream hurdle. The sexual accessories company’s Form 6 vibrating massager has won an International Design Excellence Award.

Each year, BusinessWeek magazine and the Industrial Designers Society of America celebrate leading products with their IDEA, one of the world’s most prestigious design honors. This year’s award recipients include Apple’s iPhone and the Toyota Prius. Nike, BMW, Motorola and Microsoft also have received honors in previous years.

Jimmyjane’s vibe took home a Bronze award in the category of leisure and recreation. Form 6 is the first product of its kind to receive the award.

“With Form 6, we pushed the limits of both design and engineering to deliver a groundbreaking product that has become a market leader,” Ethan Imboden, founder and chief creative officer for Jimmyjane, told XBIZ. “We are extremely honored to have another design recognized with the coveted IDEA award from Business Week and the Industrial Designers Society of America.”

Jimmyjane designed Form 6 with organic contours that fit a user’s hand and can conform to the body. The vibe also is water-resistant, made from phlatate-free medical grade silicone and stainless steel. It features cordless recharging, digital vibration modes and is engineered for sound insulation.

“We’re thrilled with the phenomenal response from our customers and retail partners,” Imoden said. “A the end of the day, this is what speaks most clearly of the success of Form 6.”

Earlier this month, Jimmyjane announced the company had partnered with cosmetics chain Sephora to offer select products from the company’s Wellbeing line. The products have been unveiled in more than 200 Sephora locations throughout France and Italy.
