Peter Reynolds Forms Plaid Bag Media

BURBANK, Calif. — Industry veteran Peter Reynolds has formed his own company, following the closure of Adam & Eve Pictures’ offices in Chatsworth, Calif. at the end of this month.

Reynolds’ Plaid Bag Media, which opens July 1, will specialize in worldwide content licensing. Adam & Eve will be Reynold's first client.

Reynolds told XBIZ that his history and solid relationships in the business give him an opportunity to capitalize on a growing market as other revenue streams stagnate.

“Broadcast, satellite, cable, IPTV, hotel pay-per-view and mobile [delivery] represent a growing revenue segment of the industry that is slowly overtaking the DVD market,” Reynolds said. “I see tremendous potential for my company with the advent of new delivery platforms for content licensing.”

Reynolds previously has worked for VCA Pictures, Vivid, Leisure Time, Caballero and Zane Entertainment/Fantastic Pictures.

While at VCA, Reynolds championed the burgeoning alt-porn movement by pushing Eon McKai’s debut movie, “Art School Sluts,” which led to “Neu Wave Hookers,” McKai’s re-imagining of the classic 1985 Dark Brothers movie.

Reynolds also served as an early supporter of Joanna Angel’s filmmaking, especially “Joanna’s Angels.” It was Reynolds who convinced Hustler founder Larry Flynt to put Angel in the magazine, becoming the first tattooed model in the history of the publication.

While at Adam & Eve Pictures, Reynolds created the Independent Adult Cinema line, which has gone on to release numerous critically acclaimed adult films, including Carlos Batts’ “Young Hollywood,” Benny Profane’s “Bullets and Burlesque” and Joanna Angel’s “Not Another Porn Movie.”

Reynolds also engineered a groundbreaking cross promotion with the Palms Casino & Resort last summer to promote Adam & Eve’s big budget release, “Eden.” The weekend featured an invite-only, swanky cocktail party attended by casino owners Joe and Gavin Maloof, and the following night was a promotional tie-in with the casino’s special Jimmy’s Naughty Nite for high rollers.

Reynolds can be reached, starting July 1, at Plaid Bag Media at (818) 332-2275, or toll free at (866) 94-PLAID. His email is peter@plaidbagmedia.com.

Plaid Bag Media is located in the Victory Media Center at 800 S. Victory, Suite 103, Burbank, Calif. 91502.
