Dark Alley Media Helps Fight AIDS

NEW YORK – This past weekend, Dark Alley Media sponsored this year's "Playing for Life" tournament in New York's Central Park.

Teams from all over the U.S. traveled to play off in their championship series and raise money for LifeBeat, a recording industry association that raises money to fight AIDS. Coordinated by Big Apple Softball League, a gay softball league, this year's tournament hosted 52 teams comprised of more than 700 players. Every player on three division-winning teams received a copy of "Mutiny: Shipmates Revenge!" and Dark Alley Media supplied water and refreshments to players throughout the hot two days. Dark Alley "waterboys" were also on hand to help the event coordinators. In all, Dark Alley Media pledged more than $6,000 towards the event.

In related news, New York Rage, a Big Apple Softball League team, has recently gained sponsorship by Dark Alley Media. On Saturday, July 16, from 7 P.M. to 10 P.M., Rage will host its annual "World Series Fundraiser" at New York's Eagle (554 West 28th Street, by 11th Avenue). Autographed copies of "Mutiny: Shipmates Revenge!" will be silently auctioned. The event will also feature the raffling of autographed balls, CDs, tickets and 50/50's. Dark Alley boys will offer shots to attendees.
