Channel One Releasing Releases Retail Countertop Racks

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Gay production company Channel One Releasing (C1R) announced today the arrival of the C1R Countertop Racks. The racks have been designed for retailers to display featured titles from the Rascal and Catalina video lines.

"We've had tremendous success with previous countertop racks," Jefferson Hitchcock, director of marketing and distribution for C1R told XBIZ.

"Since C1R has acquired the Catalina library we've had many requests to bring back the racks featuring the pre-condom classics. The countertop racks are a unique way to place premium or niche product and given the right placement retailers can see first-hand how quickly the product will move."

"Often retailers will simply mix the product among the sea of other product and it seems to get lost which leads the retailer to believe there is no market for this particular product. Special placement via countertop displays has proven differently."

The Rascal Countertop Rack showcases Rascal exclusive, Blake Riley.

C1R founding partner Chi Chi LaRue’s bestselling titles are packaged in the set including “When Bears Attack,” “Oral Exams” and “Detention.” Some of LaRue's titles with Rascal exclusives Johnny Hazzard, Benjamin Bradley, Eddie Stone and Brandon Lee are included.

Rascal Video is produced by C1R.

The 12 inch x 8 inch racks include a full-color display prepackaged with each line's bestselling DVDs. Retailers are offered 35 percent off the wholesale price.

Eighteen bestselling, pre-condom classics such as “Sailor in the Wild,” “Pizza Boy” and “The Young and Hung,” from award winning director William Higgins, are part the Catalina Countertop Rack set. Additionally, features from Bill Henson, John King will appear.

"At the request of retailers, we compiled the best-selling titles from Chi Chi LaRue’s Rascal Video and the newly repackaged pre-condom classics from Catalina," said Hitchcock.

"C1R’s award-winning art director has been redesigning these classic covers and the response has been amazing. While the original covers may suffice to attract the diehard fans who came of age with these titles, we are appealing to a much younger demographic. To do so, we've created new cover art featuring hardcore action."

Hitchcock added both the Rascal and Catalina pre-condom racks are available now while the limited run of displays last.
