RateARod Now Dick.net

SAN FRANCISCO — After more than a year in development, RateARod.com is now "dick.net," offering "social networking for your penis."

"The name says it all," site creator Dick Hunter said. "It's basically MySpace for penises."

RateARod is now a feature within dick.net, along with new features including profiles, videos, blogs, groups, polls, forums and event listings.

One new feature is called "Cock Fights." Visitors are shown two penis pictures and they click on whichever one they prefer. Participants may view their stats, including number of fights and percentage won. The Cock Fights feature can also be accessed directly through the CockFights.net website.

Dick.net can be accessed free without users having to register. Many networking sites require users to complete a registration and email verification procedure before they can access the site.

The site is aimed at all men — gay, bisexual and straight — as well as females.

"It's always bothered me that RateARod was labeled a gay site, even though the desire to know what people think of your penis transcends sexual preference," Hunter said. "One great thing about the new site is that everyone must specify their sexual preference and gender, making it easy to browse profiles and finally allowing the straight guys to be identified as such."

The current membership of dick.net self-identifies as approximately 50 percent gay, 40 percent bi or curious, and 10 percent straight. The membership consists mostly of men, but the female membership has grown steadily since the beta site launched on January 1.

Dick Hunter has been an adult webmaster for nine years. He also directs videos and runs the webmaster resource site GayWebmasters.com.
