Otto Bauer To Take Over Hustler’s ‘XXX’ Series

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — In an effort to reinvent its classic “XXX” line, Hustler Video has tapped gonzo impresario Otto Bauer to take over the series with “XXX 28.”

The last entry to the series, volume 27, was made two years ago. Bauer comes into the series in the wake of influential French adult director Pierre Woodman.

According to Hustler Creative Driector Drew Rosenfeld, Bauer will honor Woodman’s legacy while bringing his own energy and style to the series.

“We know the kind of content that’s Otto’s specialty,” Rosenfeld told XBIZ. “It’s edgy, it’s risqué. He uses the hottest girls, and he’s really got his finger on the pulse of the girls who are really willing to go to extreme levels.”

Rosenfeld said that a conversation he had with Hustler’s two chieftains, Larry Flynt and Michael Klein, sparked the idea to revive the “XXX” series with a fresh new voice.

“Woodman’s ‘XXX’ movies were mostly done in Europe with European girls and with far more of a focus on exotic locations,” he said. “While I think the locations are beautiful, I just don’t think it’s enough to get people off anymore.”

To that end, Bauer and the rest of Hustler are promising that the new series will focus on hot sex and hot women in order to sell the line – and Rosenfeld said he's confident sales will be strong.

Bauer has directed more than 30 titles since he joined the industry in 2005, most of them with Mach 2 Entertainment and for his own production company, Supercore Productions.

According to a Hustler representative, Bauer’s first entry in the “XXX” series will cater to fans of posteriors.

“It’s going to be a celebration of the butt,” the representative said.

“XXX 28” is set for a fall release.
