‘Porn for Women’ Calendar Fills Househusband Niche

LOS ANGELES — The 2009 “Porn for Women” calendar takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to what women really want with their beefcake. Despite the provocative title, the PG-rated calendar features a different pin-up guy for each month, performing various household chores.

The calendar is the latest publication from the Cambridge Women’s Porn Cooperative (CWPC), which is identified as a group of anonymous women headed by Los Angeles-based photographer Susan Anderson.

Male models featured in the books, postcards and 2009 calendar are attractive, clothed, photographed in the acts of vacuuming, making dinner and asking for directions, with captions that read, “I love a clean house!” and “As long as I have two legs to walk on, you will never take out the trash.”

The series of “Porn for Women” products débuted in 2005 with a book of the same title, in which the CWPC said, “[The CWPC] was created by women, for women… to redefine the way we look at pornography. Our mission is to recover the term ‘pornography’ from the gold-chained, hairy-chested, leisure suit wearing, mouth-breathing knuckleheads and reclaim it for the rest of us.”

“Porn for New Moms” is the latest book from the CWPC, released earlier this month.
