Evil Angel Wins XBIZ Best Studio Award

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Evil Angel was named Best Studio at the 2008 XBIZ Awards on Feb. 7 at the Highlands in Hollywood.

Company founder and owner John Stagliano accepted onstage with his wife Karen. He acknowledged his staff for helping keep the company and its product so strong, with a special thank you to Karen and to general manager Chris Norman. Later in the night, he also thanked the directors whose movies are distributed by Evil Angel.

“It’s the directorss movies, including John’s, that our fans love," Evil Angel publicist Tricia Devereaux said. "John’s a great businessman who recognizes that by treating his directors fairly and with respect, he’s able to sign and maintain relationships with such great directors."

Harmony Films, a U.K.-based studio distributed in the U.S. by Evil Angel, won Best Emerging Studio from XBIZ later in the evening.

Other nominations included Jonni Darkko and Manuel Ferrara for Best Gonzo Director, Belladonna for Best Female Performer, Manuel Ferrara for Male Performer, Jonni Darkko’s "Angels of Debauchery for Best Gonzo Series," John Stagliano for Best Feature Director, and his movie "Fashionistas Safado: Berlin" for Best Feature Movie.

The Evil Angel stable of directors is comprised of John Stagliano, John Leslie, Rocco Siffredi, Christoph Clark, Joey Silvera, Jonni Darkko, Belladonna, Justin Slayer, Manuel Ferrara, Jake Malone, Nacho Vidal, Jay Sin, Harmony Films and Raul Cristian.
