Cybersocket Award Winners Announced

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — GLBT publication Cybersocket held its 8th Annual Web Awards show last night at Ritual Supper Club . The show, which followed the opening night reception for the XBIZ Hollywood Conference , was hosted by drag personality Jackie Beat . Awards were presented in 37 categories ranging from Best Adult Blog, Best Escort Site, Best Web Content Provider and Best Porn Star Site.

The Cybersocket Web Awards is the only event of its kind honoring the best GLBT websites. Each year, outstanding websites are recognized for their achievements in both Surfer Choice categories and Industry Choice categories.

“We feel that it is essential to honor these individuals and companies as being technological entrepreneurs, important agents of free expression and cultural change, and innovators in queer online media and entertainment,” a Cybersocket spokesman said.

The awards ceremony was a veritable who’s who of the gay adult world, including industry notables Steven Scarborough of Hot House Entertainment , Kristofer Weston of COLT Studio Group , Chris Steele and Nick Boyias from Jet Set Productions , Chi Chi LaRue and Rob Novinger from Channel 1 Releasing , Michael Lucas of Lucas Entertainment , Brian Randall of Gunz Blazing , Tim Valenti from NakedSword , Anthony Duran from Falcon Studios , Jody Burman of Bel Ami and Collin O’Neal from Collin O’Neal’s World of Men . Performers Jake Deckard , Brent Corrigan , Blake Riley and others also attended.

Host Beat moved the show along at a quick pace, while DJ Val Scinto kept the beats going.

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton won Best Celebrity Site (he was not in attendance), director Lucas won Best Personality and controversial performer Brent Corrigan received the award for Best Porn Star Site.

XBIZ World received Best Industry Magazine for the second year in a row.

The awards were evenly distributed — the only company to walk away with more than one award was Epoch , which received the award for Best Billing Company and Harmik Gharapetian received Best Business Person of the Year for his work with the company.
