HDK, All Boys Hold Sales Contest

SOUTH PARIS, Maine — Kicking off the new year, gay production company Hot Desert Knights (HDK) has announced its first-ever price drop on 10 titles, available through its exclusive distribution deal with All Boys Distribution. The price drop will be effective throughout the month of January.

To further spur sales, All Boys and HDK will join together to hold a sales contest. Retailers that move the most units of the selected drop-priced HDK titles in January and February will win airfare for two and weeklong getaway to a Palm Springs, Calif., golf resort.

“We're going to hold a contest throughout the months of January and February,” All Boys post-production manager Jayson Hanson said. “The contest will officially end on the first of March. The winner gets a round-trip airfare for two, and up to a week in Palm Springs at a luxurious apartment on a golf course in the south end of the city.

“The company that sells the most HDK units will be awarded these with an open-ended invitation so it can be taken whenever that winner has vacation time. In other words, next year’s vacation is on us for whoever sells the most of the new drops,” Hanson said.

The titles that are being discounted are the first ten videos produced by HDK, which has produced more than 70 titles in nine years.

“We just felt that it was time to do a drop for some of the HDK titles,” All Boys owner/president Rob Ragan said. “Hot Desert Knights wanted to reward their fans with something that very few, if any, companies do in the high end gay arena. Along with the price being lowered on these titles, HDK is repackaging them to reflect how far the company has come. Everybody that carries HDK will end up with 10 titles that have a fresh breath of life”

HDK owner Bill Gardner agreed that as one of the earliest non-condom gay studios, he wanted to reward retailers and consumers with special catalog pricing on the ten early HDK titles.

“We've had an absolute blast making these films and as we've gained momentum taking bareback films into the mainline of the business from what was once a dirty little secret,” Gardner said. “We wanted to really do something else that nobody else has really done.”
