Spinelli: Acid Rain Still Making DVDs

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Acid Rain productions is still manufacturing and selling DVDs, company founder Mitchell Spinelli told XBIZ, despite recent rumors that the studio had stopped.

"My current project is a reality-based line called 'Grindhouse Porn,' " Spinelli said. "I shoot it in a partnership with a company called XXX Content Direct out of Las Vegas."

Spinelli shoots content for paysites exclusively first, then repurposes the content for DVD after two months of exclusivity.

Spinelli's new "Grindhouse Porn" line will launch on DVD in March.

"We're going to take average people, amateurs, talent you don't see every day and put them in situations. We have one title called 'Brokedown Bitches' where we have girls whose car broke down on the side of the road and we have two guys who are cruising and try to help them. It's all ad lib, and you're never sure what's going to happen. That's the goal. I'm looking for imperfections."

Acid Rain also has a library of almost 700 titles, Spinelli said, including box sets and Acid Rain lines including "ATM City," "I Love 'Em Natural" and "Butt Junkies." "I may have given the idea that we were getting out of the DVD business, but we aren't. We're here to stay."

To order Acid Rain DVDs, call sales manager Russ at (818) 725-7250, ext. 25, or email Mitchell Spinelli at mitchell@acidrainvideo.com.
