Vivid-Ed titles currently rank No. 1 on the instructional bestseller charts of three of the most popular online retail sites: AdultDVDEmpire.com, GameLink.com and BlueDoor.com.
The Vivid-Ed series, which debuted this year, also was honored with two 2008 Adult Video News award nominations, and in the process made history.
In the past, instructional titles have been nominated in the category Best Speciality Release — Other Genre. "The Expert Guide to Anal Sex" was nominated for Best Anal-Themed Release and "The Expert Guide to Oral Sex Part 1: Cunnilingus" was nominated in the Best Oral-Themed Release category.
"Obviously I am thrilled to be nominated in any category, but I feel like these nominations are an acknowledgement of the unique format of the videos, since viewers can watch the scenes with or without instruction," Taormino said. "The nominations say to me that these scenes without instruction are hot enough to hold up against the best oral and anal sex scenes of the year, and that makes me so proud."
Taormino's "The Expert Guide to Oral Sex Part 1: Cunnilingus" is the first ever all-cunnilingus title to appear on the nomination list which has previously only included blowjob movies.
"The Vivid-Ed line is truly innovative, and the feedback we've gotten from retailers has been outstanding," said David Peskin, Vivid's national sales director. "Apparently, the videos are on lots of people's holiday shopping lists this year."
