Representing 17 nominations in categories such as Best Video, Best Director, Best Actress, Actor and Supporting Actor, Best Group Scene, Best Couples Scene, Best Music, Best Art Direction and Best Editing is company owner John Stagliano’s "Fashionistas Safado: Berlin." "Berlin" is the final installment of Stagliano’s trilogy which to date has racked up a total of 14 awards including Best Film for the original and Best High-Definition Production for "The Challenge."
Belladonna, Jonni Darkko, Manuel Ferrara, Jake Malone and Justin Slayer have been nominated in the Director of the Year category, while John Stagliano, John Leslie, Rocco Siffredi, Christoph Clark, Belladonna, Justin Slayer Jazz Duro and Tanya Hyde from Harmony have all received nominations in Best Director categories. Company nominations include Manuel Ferrara, Nacho Vidal and Jazz Duro in their respective Performer of the Year categories.
Belladonna received nominations as both a performer and director. In "Belladonna’s Fucking Girls 4," she and Naomi are singled out for Best All-Girl Sex Scene. "No Warning 3" earned a nod in the Best All-Girl Release category, and "Dark Meat 2" is nominated in the Best Interracial Release category.
This year, the Best Music category has three Evil Angel movies going head-to-head. John Stagliano’s "Fashionistas Safado: Berlin," John Leslie’s "Brianna Love – Her Fine Sexy Self" and Justin Slayer’ "Merc" all have original soundtracks that have received recognition from AVN.
Leslie’s "Brianna" movie also received nominations for Best Video, Editing, Director, Non-sex Role, Actress (Brianna Love) and Tease Performance (Brianna Love). Merc is up in six total categories including Best Video, High-Definition Release, Actor (Justin Slayer), Videography and Director.
Joey Silvera, ever the diverse pornographer, has nominations in Best Gonzo Series for Hellcats, Best Fem-Dom Strap-On movie for "Strap Attack 7" and Best Transsexual Release for "Rogue Adventures 29."
Jonni Darkko’s "Girls Love Girls 2" was honored in the Best All-Girl Release and Best All-Girl Sex Scene categories, and the fan favorite "G for Gianna" was nominated as Best All-Sex Release.
Manuel Ferrara will be vying to be named Best Male Performer for the third year in a row. He also has such nominations as Best Gonzo Series for "Slutty & Sluttier" and Best POV Series for "Fucked on Sight."
Jake Malone saw his breakout year with titles such as "Fuck Slaves 2," up for Best Gonzo Release, and "Nice Fucking View," nominated for Best POV Release and Best POV Sex Scene.
The European-based directors had an outstanding year, the company said.
Rocco Siffredi directed a two-part "Furious Fuckers," which is nominated as Best Foreign Feature. Christoph Clark’s "Angel Perverse 8" is in the Best Foreign All-Sex Release Category, as well as Raul Cristian’s "Ass Traffic." Christoph and Rocco each have two nominated series: "Angel Perverse," "Dressed to Fuck," "Rocco’s Dirty Dreams" and previous winner "Rocco: Animal Trainer." U.K.-based Harmony Films received multiple nominations for "Maison Erotique" and "Naomi’s Fuck Me."
Buttman Magazine Choice earned nominations including Best Foreign All-Sex Release and Series for "Big Butt Slutz 2" and "Ass Jazz." "Asses of Face Destruction 2" also is in the Best Specialty Release category.
Evil Angel will be competing in the category of Best Company Image, as well as Best On-Line Marketing for "Fashionistas Safado: Berlin" with FashionistasMovies.com and the company's consumer site EvilAngel.com.
The awards will take place Jan. 12 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. John Stagliano's dancers from his Fashionistas production show will be performing during the awards ceremony, in an encore to last year's number.
