“The great thing about ‘The Sopornos’ is that Rob Spallone and James Digiorgio really came through in adding that organized crime feel,” LFP National Sales Manager Michael Glaser said. “Not only does it have great sex scenes, but the storyline makes for an all-around great show that will bring our customers hours of pleasure.”
Jimmy D told XBIZ that combining the mob and adult is a concept that has natural shelf appeal for the adult consumer.
“Obviously, the incredible popularity of ‘The Sopranos’ had a lot to do with ‘The Sopornos’ success. All those Emmy Awards certainly didn't hurt either. American audiences have been fascinated with wise-guys and the mob for a very long time,” Jimmy D said.
“Films like 'The Godfather,' 'Casino' and 'Goodfellas,' which are amongst my personal, favorite, all-time flicks, were major influences on me when I made this adult film for VCA. There's quite a few bits and lines that pay porn-homage to those films as well as HBO's popular series. In short, I think America's fascination with the mafia extended all the way to a porn flick,” he said.
“The Sopornos, Vol. 1” features Tabitha Stevens, Jewel De’Nyle, Kendra Jade, Monique De Moan, Julie Meadows and Tawny Roberts, among others.
