ASACP's Joan Irvine on 2257 Panel at GAYVN Retreat

LOS ANGELES — ASACP Executive Director Joan Irvine will be participating in the 2257 Legal Specific — What You Need to Know panel at the GAYVN Webmaster Retreat.

The panel, set for 2:45–4 p.m. Saturday, will feature a step-by-step instructional seminar on how to be 2257 compliant. Irvine also will be available to discuss ASACP’s RTA (Restricted to Adults) website label.

“I am really looking forward to being a part of the GAYVN retreat,” Irvine told XBIZ. "It’s a great chance to visit with many of ASACP’s long time supporters, plus it’s a wonderful opportunity to share ASACP’s mission with new people.

“Much of 2257 was created under the guise of child protection. I plan to discuss how you can really protect children while at the same time be protecting your business.”

Also on the panel will be Free Speech Coalition Chair and attorney Jeffrey Douglas, Mark Kernes of AVN and attorney Chad Belville. The panel will be moderated by attorney Clyde DeWitt.

The GAYVN Webmaster Retreat will take place Thursday through Saturday at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, Calif.

Founded in 1996, the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating child pornography from the Internet. ASACP also works to help parents prevent children from viewing age-inappropriate material online.
