'Spunk'd' Director Justin Kane Finds Success

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — He seems like your average college student running off to class but make no mistake about porn’s newest hit director Justin Kane, as his adult film "Spunk’d the Movie" is one of the year’s big success stories, a representative said.

In just a couple of weeks since its release, "Spunk’d the Movie" is selling briskly and entertaining fans nationwide, according to the production company behind the title, 6969 Entertainment.

“We spent a very long time making this movie. We were thorough and determined to stay true to the TV show which we were parodying, and I couldn’t be happier with the end result,” Kane said about his TV reality-style adult movie that spoofs MTV’s "Punk’d."

The Boston native and University of Southern California graduate always had an eye toward Hollywood but when the chance came to get a job in the movie industry, Kane jumped at the chance even though the offer was a few miles northwest of Hollywood.

“I went to work as a producer and production manager for Nectar and started to learn the adult movie business,” he said.

“One thing led to another and I started to write the script for 'Spunk’d the Movie' because I really liked what they were doing with 'Punk’d' and I just thought it would make for a great porn movie” Kane said.

Previously just a fan of adult movies, the rookie director found himself busy casting his movie and coming face to face with the industry’s top adult movie stars such as Hillary Scott, Eva Angelina and Katie Gold. “It was an amazing few weeks,” he said.

With an eye towards originality and attention to detail, Kane not only produced the movie but also directed the spoof.

Always thinking outside the box, Kane then went after a nontraditional movie distribution deal signing directly with industry distribution titan IVD, where he struck up an exclusive deal putting his movie into stores across the U.S.

“Everything has been a great experience so far but you really have to work hard to get a project like this to the public,” Kane said.
