Wonderland Entertainment Readies Debut Release

LOS ANGELES — With a wealth of knowledge of the adult entertainment industry between the two, former performers JJ Michaels and Roxanne Hall have formed Wonderland Entertainment, a new production company. The studio was formed in June and its first movie is ready for release on Nov. 13.

The company has completed production on four movies, all shot in high-definition: “Fables,” “Fables 2,” “Dreams” and one project yet-to-be-named. Wonderland has used big-name stars in its movies including Penny Flame, Faith Leon, Cindy Crawford, Harmony and Sandra Romain.

Hall, who serves as the company’s producer, told XBIZ that the goal of Wonderland Entertainment is to produce story driven features, vignettes and high-concept gonzo. As a 13-year veteran of the adult industry, Hall, along with Michaels, is seeking to recreate elements of eroticism and sensuality that she feels is lacking in many of today’s erotic movies.

“I knew I wanted to stop performing, but I didn’t want to leave the business,” Hall said. “I thought that the business was moving in a direction toward hard-edge content that I didn’t necessarily agree with, so I think that there is an opportunity for a company like Wonderland to be successful. Our product is going to exploit the beauty of the women in this industry.”

Hall said the company plans to release one movie per month and will do its own distribution.

“I truly believe that the market is saturated with the same type of product,” Hall said. “It’s time for something else, and I think the fans are going to follow us. The bottom line is about the sex, and we’re hoping the consumer is ready for a different type of presentation.”
