Black Scorpion Entertainment Comes Out Strong

NEW YORK — Newcomer Black Scorpion Entertainmententers the gay marketplace with three new releases for the fall, “Hunger,” “Man Island,” and “Cuma Sutra,” making a total of five titles for the fledgling studio.

“There was a need for a gay adult entertainment company where quality and taste were raised to a level far higher than anything available in the market,” Black Scorpion owner James Ian told XBIZ. “Black Scorpion focuses on quality more than quantity. We want our customers to see the good-looking men they fantasize about in the fashion advertising, having sex with each other.

"Creating high-quality gay porn takes more than throwing guys on a set, getting off on cue, and tossing movies on a shelf. We've thought long and hard about making movies that are distinctive from other studios — in California and in New York,” Ian said.

Black Scorpion is aiming at the high-end niche by combining high production values, elaborate sets and locations, and models who have a high-fashion look, according to Ian. His production crew comes from a background in fashion/art photography.

“The creative team is constantly evolving to maintain a fresh approach. Our one constant — since day one — has been the fiercely talented videographer and editor Mr. Pam,” Ian said. “Our graphic designer Ignacio has been instrumental in creating beautiful boxcovers and advertising visuals. And we were incredibly fortunate to have Rafael Alencar and Christian Cruz involved in our early stages.”

“Hunger” will release on Oct. 4 and features themes of sex and fine dining.

The plot of “Man Island” features a cast of shipwrecked models, shot on a private island in the Mexican Gulf. It will be available in late October.

“Cuma Sutra” is “a sexual feast of heart-pounding meditation and desire, filmed at a yoga retreat in the rolling wheat hills of southern Washington,” and is scheduled to street in late November.

Black Scorpion’s two previous titles “Dreams of Rafael” and “Obsession of D.O.,” both starring Rafael Alencar, were released also in 2007.

Black Scorpion adds to the expanding adult scene based out of New York City and said it hopes to achieve the success of other NYC gay production houses like Lucas Entertainment and Dark Alley Media.

“New York is the world's sexiest city, at the center of everything that's exciting,” Ian said. “It is long overdue that New York should be at the center of gay porn production, and we're now well on our way as we enter the market and create the most sophisticated, sultry porn ever created.”
