Cal Exotics Wins Manufacturer of the Year

LAS VEGAS — The inaugural Storerotica Awards, held on Monday, honored adult novelty manufacturer California Exotic Novelties as Manufacturer of the Year. The awards show coincided with this week’s Storerotica Expo, held at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

“What a wonderful honor,” Cal Exotics President and founder Susan Colvin said. “I'd like to thank everyone who voted for us and who has supported us throughout the years. I'd also like to thank Adult Store Buyer and Teeze magazines for producing a wonderful event.”

Presented by Adult Store Buyer and Teeze Magazines, the awards recognized outstanding achievements in the areas of adult retail, distribution and wholesaling.

“I think anytime that you receive recognition from the retailers and the distributors; it’s exciting,” Cal Exotics’ Scott Stein told XBIZ. “We work hard all year long and an award of this nature is very gratifying. On the novelty-manufacturing end, there aren’t a lot of awards. Most of the feedback we get is directly from our clients and that’s extremely gratifying, but it’s also nice to be noticed on a larger scale.”

The Storerotica award comes on the heels of an award for Vibrator of the Year that was presented to Cal Exotics by Vibrator.com, for their Royal Princess vibe from sex educator Sue Johansson’s line. Vibrator.com also presented Cal Exotics with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

“2007 has been a great year for us,” Colvin said. “We have no plans on slowing down. We remain steadfast in our commitment to continue to provide our distributors and retailers with finest products and service in the adult novelty industry.”

The Storerotica Awards were hosted by adult performers Gina Lynn and Tera Wray, held at the Sapphire Club in Las Vegas. Other adult celebrities on hand included Jesse Jane, Stormy Daniels, Shay Jordan, Roxy Jezel, Krystal Steele, Lela Star, Donna Doll and Ron Jeremy.
