AdultSafe Releases Best Practices Guidelines

CYBERSPACE — AdultSafe, which said it is an independent organization devoted to establishing and promoting recommended guidelines or Best Practices for the online adult entertainment industry, with a focus on protecting the rights and interests of consumers of online adult entertainment, has debuted.

Working in conjunction with private companies, industry groups and relevant agencies, such as the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), AdultSafe will provide consumers, as well as members of the industry and government, with a greater understanding of issues affecting consumer safety in the online adult entertainment marketplace.

AdultSafe has issued its initial listing of Best Practices for online adult entertainment websites.

"The result of the AdultSafe Best Practices compliance is an adult website where consumers can rest assured that their privacy and personal data is protected," a representative said. "That they will never (even inadvertently) be exposed to child pornography; and that they will be served and marketed to in a fair and honest way — free of viruses, spyware or other issues that can lead to computer harm or identity theft."
