Private Media Hosts Booth at Gay Erotic Expo

LOS ANGELES — Adult production company Private Media and distributor Pure Play Media will host a booth at this weekend’s Gay Erotic Expo, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Private, known primarily for its straight content, will be at the expo to promote its Private Man, Private Mansize and Manstars gay lines.

“Private stopped doing gay productions for a few years, but they started back up a couple of years ago and it’s been doing really well for them,” Pure Play Media Key Account Sales Manager Cesar J. Dimas told XBIZ. “We have three lines, which are Private Man that is storyline-based, and then we have Private Mansize that is more fetishes and specialty content. Manstars is compilations of single-star performers.”

Dimas said the company is taking a more active role in courting the gay market by accessing more publications and appearing at more events. At the expo, Private Man line will be promoting its release “Rich Kid” starring Dean Monroe, as well as handing out T-shirts, keychains and magazines.

At the company’s booth, show attendees also will have the opportunity to join a raffle for a collection of Private titles.

“People are becoming more familiar with the Private gay brands now,” he said. “They’re very familiar with Dean Monroe, who stars in our blockbuster for the year ‘Rich Kid.’ It’s been on the top 10 of the JRL charts for the last six weeks. That’s what we’re trying to push while we’re there this weekend.”

The company also is adding new gay lines to its roster, according to Dimas, hoping to appeal to the discerning gay audience.

“Private recognizes the potential of the gay market and we’ve been very picky about the lines that we’re going to carry,” Dimas said. “It has to be quality up to what Private does. So we’re very particular. Hopefully within a month or so, we have a deal with Liquid London so they’ll be coming onboard with us.”

Visitors to Private’s Man-Size.com can view video-on-demand content, photo galleries and the online magazine.
