“We are proud to create this special philanthropic relationship with Titan Media,” Executive Director of Folsom Street Events Demetri Moshoyannis said. “With this partnership, we hope to raise and distribute more grant money than we have in the past. Last year, Folsom Street Events gave away $301,512 to charity, and I believe we can exceed that amount with the help of Titan Media and our generous sponsors.”
The Up Your Alley Fair and Folsom Street Fair are the two main fundraising events benefiting Folsom Street Events, a nonprofit organization that hosts adult entertainment fundraisers. Both Up Your Alley and the Folsom Street Fair celebrate San Francisco’s leather culture, as well as other alternative lifestyle groups. All revenue from the events goes to supporting diverse Bay Area charities.
This year’s Up Your Alley Fair will take place on July 29, in Dore Alley between Folsom and Sheridan Streets.
The Bay of Pigs event starts at 10 p.m. on July 27, kicking off the weekend’s festivities, and continues until 4 a.m. The dance party location is the Cat Club at 1190 Folsom St.
DJ Paolo will spin in the Main Room while DJ Nikita and Tattoo Chris host the action in the Dungeon Lounge area of the club. TitanMen Fetish and Leather will present a media montage.
“We have edited a special leather/fetish montage of our films that will be playing throughout the party. It features fetish content from the current two releases under the Folsom sub-brands, Folsom Filth and Folsom Leather,” Webb said.
With a presenting level sponsorship through 2009, Titan Media joins Miller Beer and NakedSword as headliners for the Folsom Street hosted events.
“When more and more companies in the gay adult industry are pulling back on funding of nonprofits we felt it was really important to stand up and do something major like the TitanMen/Folsom Fund and show our support,” Titan Media Owner Keith Webb told XBIZ.
“We hope we can lead by example and encourage ours in the adult industry to be more financially generous with smaller nonprofits that need help,” Webb said. “The Bush administration has not been very supportive of gay men’s health and education organizations. We felt it is our obligation to give back to the community that has given us so much.”
