Cybersocket Event Kicks Off XBIZ Summer Forum Parties

LAS VEGAS — With the XBIZ Summer Forum officially under way Tuesday night, Cybersocket threw the show’s first party — a laidback evening of cocktails and networking at Piranha, a local gay hot spot just up the street from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Inside the darkened club, partygoers made their way past the main dance floor to a stairway leading to the second floor, which was reserved exclusively for attendees of the Cybersocket party.

Along the way to the stairs, one could hardly miss the massive aquarium filled with carnivorous piranha fish; the crowd upstairs was significantly friendlier than the finned flesh-eaters in the fish tank.

Drinks flowed freely from the bar upstairs as partiers came and went, some ducking into upstairs VIP rooms for more private conversation, while others mainly hovered in a lounge area — and within easy reach of the bar.

Among the numerous revelers in the lounge area were Scott Rabinowitz and Danielle Waid of TrafficDude, Brian from Pistol Media and “Zombiegirl” Iolani Maja Lee of FetishPaysMe, who engaged passers-by and handed out a business card with some highly unusual fine print: “Present card for one free kiss from zombiegirl.”

Always a gracious host, even when he is not technically the host, Juan Figueroa of PrideBucks generously made his way through the crowd in front of the bar to retrieve a bottle of water for one particularly exhausted and dehydrated XBIZ writer in attendance.

The party was the first of three Cybersocket is throwing at the XBIZ Summer Forum, with hotel suite parties happening from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday night.
