Red Light Interactive Changes Company Name

NEW YORK — Red Light Interactive, which launched late last year with its first three titles, has changed its name to Stella Film Production, company owner Estelle Joseph told XBiz.

“There was some level of confusion between Red Light District and our brand,” Joseph said. “We are really much different from the other company.”

Red Light District of Chatsworth, Calif., is a leading adult studio that is best-known for its distribution of the Paris Hilton sex tape.

Stella Film's Joseph also produces and directs her features. She started the business with a focus on marketing adult video to women and couples.

“People really open their desire and acceptance for this type of product,” said Joseph, who also goes by the name Dominque X. “Our films are created by women. Men can’t produce these types of movies, where the emphasis is just erotica. This is an alternative to conventional pornography.”

All three of the New York-based studio’s movies in the “City of Flesh” series were shot in New York City and deal with the sex lives of women in the Big Apple — all told from a woman’s point of view.

Stella Film markets the videos, available in DVD and VHS formats, on the RedLightInteractive.com website. But she says the company is soon moving its site to StellaFilmsProduction.com. It has a U.S. distributor for brick-and-mortar stores.

The company also has deals in place with AEBN and Gamelink for video-on-demand streams for the three movies available on the label: “City of Flesh,” “City of Flesh 2: Apt. 2B” and “City of Flesh 3: Cumittment” — all of which have original soundtracks.

Joseph said “City of Flesh 4” has an April release date.
