Kerkove will direct gonzo sex movies exclusively in hi-definition for the new division, Lurid Hardcore.
“Skeeter is a pioneer at what he does,” Harry Weiss, publicist for Lurid Entertainment, told XBiz. “He gets performances out of the talent that others can’t. They really get into the scene when they work with him.”
Kerkove has been performing in adult since 1999, but made his reputation as a director with his unique brand of gonzo adult, winning multiple awards by mixing fetish elements and wall-to-wall sex.
Speaking of the advantages of shooting in hi-def, Kerkove told XBiz, “It will really be in your face now — very vivid.” He added that he plans to shoot six to eight titles a year under the new agreement.
Lurid Hardcore is part of the company’s push to become a leader in the emerging hi-def market. The company debuted its hi-def capabilities earlier this month at the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas by displaying content shot and edited in hi-def on two 50-inch plasma screens.
Kerkove’s first release for Lurid Hardcore, tentatively titled “Anal Supremacy,” is scheduled to begin shooting February 5. The movie stars Melissa Lauren, Sandra Romain, Audrey Hollander, Carmen and Isabel Ice.
Kerkove also will shoot hi-def Internet content for Lurid throughout the year, beginning shortly after filming for Anal Supremacy wraps.
