Starr Productions Releases 'Carnival of Desires'

LOS ANGELES — Starr Productions is releasing “Carnival of Desires” by mainstream filmmaker Mark Miremont. The director told XBiz he graduated from the University of California film school and was selected to develop a project at Robert Redford’s prestigious Sundance Institute in Utah.

“‘Carnival of Desires’ is an adult film without sex,” Miremont said. “It has eight short films with erotic themes, such as stockings, burlesque, and pinups.”

The film depicts a number of attractive models in various states of undress shot on location at Jimi Hendrix's mansion in Los Angeles. The imagery is rich in saturated colors.

“This is a moving version of my photographs,” said Madrid-born Miremont.

Starr Productions CEO Elizabeth Starr said that Miremont “blends art and erotica, but he does so in his own very colorful, very beautiful way. His photographs of models like Zdenka Podkapova, Dita von Teese, Julie Strain, Masuimi Max and others have had lots to do with pinups and fetish glamour becoming so vogue. Bettie Page and Mamie van Doren are fans of his work and so am I.”

Starr recently signed Miremont to produce and direct another film which she hopes will eventually become part of a whole line of art erotica films for Starr Productions.

"He and his amazing stable of models are redefining what erotica can be and we want to be a part of that,” Starr said.

Starr Productions has a library of more than 350 films and releases up to five new fetish, art and erotica films per month.
