Dane Productions rolled out the first volume of “Latina Sabrosas,” which translates to “Tasty Latinas,” in late June.
The Chatsworth, Calif.-based production company and distributor now says the soap opera-gone-porno series is the most successful DVD ever in its seven-year history. The company on Tuesday said so far it has doubled initial sales of “Latina Sabrosas No. 1.”
The video was shot twice in English and Spanish so that there are no overdubs or subtitles — viewers are able to choose their language — and Dane Productions has already wrapped up production on “Latina Sabrosas No. 2.”
The first video of the series features one of the last performances of HIV-positive actor Miss Arroyo, as well as Mason Storm, Olivia O’Lovely and Domina.
The Playboy Radio interview by Julie Ashton and Tiffany Granath will feature the “Latina Sabrosas” girls and director Drew Rose, who also produced and conceived the title.
Playboy Radio producer Farrell Hirsch said “Latina Sabrosas” stands out among most adult videos because of its diverse target.
“I was drawn by the fact that this DVD reaches more than one market,” Hirsch told XBiz. “We broadcast in English, but we have many listeners that speak Spanish as well as English.”
Dane Productions in the past has capitalized on youth-inspired DVDs with the “Nineteen” series (with more than 50 volumes), as well as “Panty World,” “Serial Fuckers,” “Hooker Illustrated,” “Oral Exams” and “University Co-Eds.”
Playboy Radio’s “Latina Sabrosas” interview is live but will be repeated over the next month on XM channel 205.
