Penis-Pump Jurist May Lift Sex Toy Industry

SAPULPA, Okla. — The multibillion-dollar sex toy industry got a rise Thursday on disclosure that even a judge allegedly uses them — on the bench — for pleasure.

Oklahoma District Court Judge Donald Thompson frequently masturbated and used a penis pump for enhancing erections while his court was in session, according to a complaint filed Wednesday by the state’s attorney general.

At issue are accusations that the judge not only used the penis pump, but left evidence of semen under the bench in a trash can.

Thompson’s lawyer spoke with XBiz on Thursday, saying the charges have been trumped up, motivated politically by “some who are upset with his rulings.”

But attorney Clark Brewster also said that the 57-year-old judge in fact owns a penis pump — one that is made of clear plastic, has a handle and is at least 10 inches long.

Brewster said that the judge has owned it for years but could not explain to XBiz why Thompson kept it under the bench.

“The charges are preposterous,” Brewster told XBiz. “The penis pump was given to him as a gag gift on his 50th birthday.”

According to sexologist Dr. Joel Kaplan, the vacuum-like penis pump creates a pressure which is larger than a natural erection. Most men gain one to three inches in length and 25 percent in thickness.

Penis pumps are sold at sex shops worldwide and online at stores such as AdamEve.com and Hustler.com.

The judge, who was first elected to the bench more than 20 years ago in Oklahoma’s nonpartisan judicial elections, is based about 80 miles northeast of Oklahoma City in Creek County.

Now the judge faces strong accusations that are detailed in a petition to remove him from the bench on judicial moral turpitude charges, which are clearly spelled out in Oklahoma’s constitution.

In the court document, the attorney general charged that Thompson used a penis pump during trials and exposed himself to a court reporter several times while masturbating on the bench.

"On one occasion, Ms. [Lisa] Foster, saw Judge Thompson holding his penis up and shaving underneath it with a disposable razor while on the bench," the petition reads. Foster was Thompson's court reporter for 15 years but was later fired after cooperating with investigators, the attorney general said.

A number of witnesses, including jurors in the judge’s courtroom and police officers called to testify in trials, said in the petition they heard the "swooshing" sound of a penis pump during trials and saw the judge slumped in his chair, with his elbows on his knees, working the device.

The case is State of Oklahoma vs. Judge Donald D. Thompson, No. CJTD-2004-1
