"Progressive leadership, to me, means leading the conversation forward — slowly dissolving the shame associated with self-pleasure and normalizing sexual health and pleasure so we talk about them in the same open language and with the same respect as physical health, mental health, and wellness," said Armani.
"When we started ImBesharam in 2013, sexual wellness in India wasn't just an underserved market; it was a taboo," added Armani. "People had questions, needs, and curiosities, but no safe, credible, or judgment-free place to turn. Putting that into practice starts with normalizing the conversation. It also means listening — particularly to women, who now account for nearly half our audience and 65% of our revenue, up from about a third in 2020. Their trust didn't come from marketing; it came from building a platform where they feel respected, informed, and in control."
