LOS ANGELES — RetailCurrent, a tool that lets pleasure brands show online customers nearby brick-and-mortar stores with confirmed availability of specific products, has officially launched.
Co-founded by Joreail Armstrong and Khalid Shannak, RetailCurrent offers a module that brands can integrate into each product page, providing directions to nearby retail locations that have the product in stock, a rep explained.
"A brand’s website may have a general store locator but not show which nearby stores carry the specific product a shopper is viewing," said the rep. "Customers may end up calling around, searching elsewhere, or giving up on the purchase altogether."
Armstrong elaborated on RetailCurrent's utility.
"A customer can discover a product online and still struggle to find it locally," he said. "That’s a missed opportunity for the brand that generated the interest and the retailer that invested in carrying it. RetailCurrent closes that gap, helping shoppers find products nearby and brands turn online marketing into support for their retail partners."
The tool, the rep said, allows retailers to provide up-to-date confirmation of what products they have in-store. It also offers distributors the ability to contribute data to assist customers in locating retail options while protecting private partner and distribution records.
"This creates sales opportunities for retailers and helps drive replenishment orders for brands and distributors," the rep continued.
Added Armstrong, "Retailers put time and money into inventory, staff education, and the customer experience. We want the interest a brand creates online to help those stores earn the sale. When shoppers can find the right product nearby, retailers have a better chance to earn that business, and that supports the brands and distributors behind them."
