BERLIN — Queer/trans porn studio AORTA films has announced that its new feature, "Haunted," will screen at Pornfilmfestival Berlin on Oct. 21, 23, and 24.
The full cast and crew will attend the festival, and "Haunted" writer Carmen Maria Machado will participate in its closing panel, "Sex and Media in Arts and Culture," on Saturday, Oct. 24.
Directed by Mahx Capacity, "Haunted" is described as an erotic thriller that explores how ghosts of the queer community’s past, including the AIDS crisis, echo in present-day queer and trans sex. According to a rep, the story centers on a team of documentary filmmakers who investigate ghosts as metaphors for grief within New York’s queer community and unexpectedly stumble into a literal haunting.
Beginning Oct. 29, the film's explicit scenes will premiere monthly, leading up to the official release of "Haunted" in 2027.
