LOS ANGELES — Lily Phillips, Little Puck, Aaliyah Yasmin, and Girthmasterr appear in Season 2 of "Headline Newds," a social media series in which adult content creators explain complex climate issues through 90-second sketches that satirize porn clichés.
"Headline Newds" is produced by Bree Essrig, Skins star Megan Prescott, and climate narrative strategist Jessica Riches in collaboration with Yellow Dot Studios, the non-profit media company founded by Oscar-winning filmmaker Adam McKay.
Season 1 featured creators including Essrig, Prescott, Rebecca Crow, and Eva Oh, covering topics including solar energy, climate censorship, extreme heat, flooding, and fossil-fuel financing.
Season 2 arrives on the heels of the hottest summer on record in the United States and devastating glacier floods in Nepal. Upcoming episodes will tackle subjects such as carbon footprints, microplastics, wet-bulb temperatures, data centers, and fossil-fuel power, while showcasing "sexy solutions" that could help tackle the climate crisis.
Phillips stars in the first episode, "Body Count," while Girthmasterr tackles the extreme climate phenomenon known as "Godzilla El Niño" later in the season.
"Everybody knows what microplastics are at this point, but what they don’t know is how much money Big Oil spends covering up the fact that they’re killing us," said Essrig. "If I have to throw my ass in circles to get that information out there, then I’ll just stay bent over until that's what kills me instead."
Added McKay, "Hotness is awesome and fun when it’s ladies and dudes on OnlyFans, but when the hotness pertains to oil companies cooking the entire planet just to get their stock price higher, it, to use a scientific term, sucks."
"Headline Newds" is made just safe enough for Instagram, though additional cuts are available on OnlyFans.
