SAN FRANCISCO — Pink & White Productions has debuted "A Body to Live In," a feature-length documentary about Fakir Musafar and the cultural movements behind BDSM performance art and body modification.
According to a rep, "A Body to Live In" combines never-before-seen archival footage with insights from queer and artistic trailblazers including Annie Sprinkle, Ron Athey, Cléo Dubois, Jim Ward, and Midori, providing multiple perspectives on the emergence of a global subculture shaped by the AIDS crisis and spiritual reinvention.
"With particular interest paid to Fakir’s early experiments in body play and his photographic works from the 1940s and '50s, director Angelo Madsen creates an intergenerational dialogue between Fakir’s archive and the voices of the movement's canonical elders," said the rep.
"A Body to Live In" is now streaming on PinkLabel.TV.
