ATLANTA — Hot2Vote, a coalition of more than 100 adult entertainers and creators, has launched a $100,000 advertising campaign across metro Atlanta to promote voter registration.
Hot2Vote is a nonpartisan collaboration between Artists United for Change and the New Moon Network. Comedian Margaret Cho is among the celebrities supporting the voter registration campaign, which is projected to reach between 400,000 and 450,000 people in the metro Atlanta area, according to a rep. The campaign features the participation of local performers Hazel Grace, Kimmy Kimm, and Holly Hendrix.
"Following the cancellation of nearly half a million inactive voter registrations in Georgia last year, the campaign uses pin-up-style posters and targeted digital ads to encourage Atlanta residents to visit hot2vote.org, where they can confirm they are still on the rolls and fix any problems in time for the November election," said the rep.
Grace elaborated about the campaign.
"Over the next few weeks, my team and I will be out hitting the clubs around Atlanta and connecting with our community to make sure everyone checks their voter registration status," said Grace. "It is critical that you confirm you are still on the voter rolls and that your registration has not been purged. If you see us out and about — or see a Hot2Vote.org poster — don't wait. Visit the link, check your status, and make sure your voice is ready to be heard."
Added Hot2Vote ambassador Casey Calvert, "The most effective protection any of us have is a ballot."
The organization has released two SFW campaign videos on YouTube in an effort to reach people who have tuned out traditional political advertising, and the campaign runs through Oct. 4.
