MONTREAL — Aylo has teamed up with sex worker support organization Cupcake Girls for the second season of their safety video series, which aims to educate performers and creators on how to protect themselves from exploitation.
The second season of "Safety Training With the Cupcake Girls" centers on “topics that were selected to address real-world challenges performers commonly face in their careers,” said a rep. “This season also marks Aylo’s final collaboration with Cupcake Girls, following the organization’s difficult decision to dissolve amid the challenging financial landscape facing non-profits.”
The first video, “Combatting Professional Stigma,” is presented by Britney Amber and provides guidance on navigating career transitions, leveraging transferable skills, and accessing support to overcome professional stigma.
The second video, “Financial Literacy for Performers and Creators,” is presented by Sarah Arabic and explores managing income, planning for taxes, navigating de-banking, and building long-term financial stability.
The third video, “Recognizing and Addressing Exploitation,” is presented by Siouxsie Q and offers steps for responding to suspected exploitation, understanding informed consent, and accessing resources for support or reporting abuse.
The final video, “Understanding Consent and Communication,” is presented by Codi Vore and guides performers through setting boundaries, establishing clear expectations, and exercising their right to withdraw consent at any time.
“Cupcake Girls have had a profound impact on the sex work community through their tireless advocacy and support," said Pornhub VP of Brand and Community Alex Kekesi. "We are both proud and grateful to be able to collaborate on a final project that gives performers another resource to make informed decisions about their work and sheds light on the real-world issues sex workers can face.”
Added Cupcake Girls Interim Executive Director Ash Miller, "We are incredibly proud of the continued production of these educational videos, developed in close collaboration with Aylo to provide adult content creators with practical, judgment-free tools for navigating their careers. Cupcake Girls has been proud to add our support and expertise to honor the autonomy, dignity, and real-world needs of performers and creators. While our doors are closing, the need for this vital work remains urgent. We hope these videos serve as a lasting resource, and we implore the community and its allies to continue fiercely supporting sex workers by investing in and advocating for the other grassroots support organizations that carry this mission forward.”
